Cape Verde Red Cross Launches Campaign for Storm Aid

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cape Verde Red Cross (CVCV) launched today the national campaign “Rebuild with Hope,” aiming to support families displaced by the rains, which had the greatest impact in São Vicente and Santo Antão, and to help rebuild lives affected by the storms.

This initiative, the CVCV said in a statement, calls for the mobilization of all Cape Verdeans, both in the country and in the diaspora, for a massive Djunta Mon campaign. People can donate clothing and footwear (in good condition), school supplies, hygiene kits, non-perishable food, and financial contributions can be made via bank transfer.

“The recent torrential rains have caused structural damage, significant losses, and left hundreds of people in vulnerable situations. Given this scenario, the CVCV reinforces its commitment to being present where it is most needed—promoting reconstruction, providing assistance, and bringing hope,” the institution concluded.
