Holding the CVMA Gala, for the first time on an island other than Santiago, reflects the organization’s intention to “decentralize” the Official Cape Verde Music Award, taking it to other islands, in order to also allow it to integrate the event on the tourism circuit.
The 12th CVMA Gala, which takes place on June 3, 2023, will take place at the Meliã Dunas Resort and is the result, according to the organization, of a strong partnership between the Cabo Verde Music Awards and the Loco Music Company group, belonging to the TRG group led by English businessman Robert Jarrett.
The organization believes that, therefore, it will be a moment to take Cape Verde’s music to other stages and other audiences, also placing it within the tourism value chain and positioning the island of Sal as a stage for holding major cultural events. .

Tickets for the Cape Verde Music Awards go on sale later this month. The organization is working with travel agencies on a weekend package that includes travel, stay and ticket to the Gala, for trips from the city of Praia. The poster for the Gala, they guarantee, will be announced shortly.
It should be remembered that there are 17 categories in the competition and that the nominees were already known on the 1st of April, at a Gala in Brockton. Djodje, Fattu Djakité and Soraia Ramos are among the most nominated.
