One of the challenges of his mandate, he said, will be to strengthen communication, both internal and external to the organization.
“We want to take the organization as far as possible in terms of knowledge and the work we have done. We want a database of members to have an idea of where we are, how many we are, who we are and also to have an idea of the skills that exist within the organization”, the new president told the press, advocating more dynamics for OMCV.
According to Eloisa Cardoso, the newly elected also face the challenge of creating project offices and strengthening the delegations, since, as she said, there are “some who need a hand”.
Idalina Freire continues to support OMCV
For her part, the outgoing president, Idalina Freire, gave a positive assessment of the cause she served for 15 years and thanked all those who worked alongside her, as well as the partners, highlighting the embassies of Portugal, the United States and Luxembourg.
“I end my mission to preside over the OMCV, but I am still here and I am committed to supporting the new team that will manage the destiny of the OMCV 2022/2026”, he guaranteed.
According to Idalina Freire, OMCV, during its 15-year term, managed to mobilize funds to respond to various projects and to start the rural tourism project on the islands of Fogo, Santiago and Santo Antão.
In conclusion, he said that the organization “is in good health” and appealed to those who will assume the new direction to continue existing programs and to know how to negotiate and mobilize resources for the OMCV’s causes.
