The training is part of the initiative “Together for seabirds: a regional network for co-creation and learning in action”, led by BirdLife International – Marine Program, in partnership with Associação Projeto Vitó.

The objective of the regional training is to strengthen the technical and operational capabilities of professionals working in the conservation of seabirds in West and North Africa, in the context of the Canary Current Large Marine Ecosystem (CCLME).

According to the Projeto Vitó Association, the opening event will take place on Monday, the 19th, at the São Filipe Ministry of Education Office, marking the beginning of a week dedicated to training, exchange of experiences and collaborative actions in favor of marine biodiversity.

The choice of the Rombo Islets, a protected area of great ecological importance, stands out as a symbol of the rich birdlife of Cape Verde and the need to preserve its natural habitats in the face of growing environmental threats.
