Africa-Press – Cape verde. Gasoline and butane gas have become more expensive since 00:00 this Wednesday, March 1, according to an update from the Multisectoral Regulatory Agency for the Economy (ARME). The Gasoline Import Duty rate increased from 10% to 20%.
According to the new price list published by ARME, gasoline went from 138.90 escudos/liter last month to 143.10 escudos/liter during the month of March.
This is because, according to the same source, Law No. 16/X/2022, of December 30, which approves the State Budget for the financial year of 2023, increases the Import Duty (DI) rate by 10% to 20%, maintaining, however, the values for Fuel at 0% and the rate of the Special Consumption Tax (ICE) on diesel and gasoline at 6$00 per litre.
Oil, in turn, drops from 158 to 151 esc/l, normal diesel drops to 134.90 esc/l, diesel for electricity drops to 125.90 esc/l, as well as marine diesel which is at 105 .30 sc/l; Fuel 380 at 95.40 sc/Kg and Fuel 180 at 99.10 sc/Kg.
Butane gas also more expensive
Butane gas also suffers an increase and is now sold in bulk for 162.90 esc/Kg.
In this way, 3KG bottles now cost 464.00 escudos; those of 6Kg, 978 escudos; the 12.5Kg, 2037 escudos and the 55 Kg 8961.00 escudos.
On the domestic market, says ARME, the prices of Butane, Gasoline and Fuel Oil 380 increased by 5.85%, 3.02% and 1.06%, respectively.
On the other hand, the prices of Petroleum, Regular Gasoil, Electricity Gasoil, Marine Gasoil and Fueloil 180 decreased by 4.18%, 5.60%, 5.90%, 6.07% and 0.30% , respectively.
All in all, it corresponds to an average decrease in fuel prices of 1.51 percent.
The new maximum sale prices for the final consumer of regulated fuels are in effect between March 1st and March 31st, 2023.
