Africa-Press – Cape verde. Residents of Lombo de Cal, in Tarrafal de Monte Trigo, in the municipality of Porto Novo, insisted this Tuesday on the need to electrify this village, which has been waiting for electricity for over a decade.

According to Inforpress, the inhabitants of that locality once again denounced to Inforpress the fact that Lombo de Cal continues without electricity, eleven years after the energy interconnection of Tarrafal de Monte Trigo with the public grid of Santo Antão.

The residents recalled that, in 2015, with the energy interconnection of Tarrafal de Monte Trigo with the electricity grid of Santo Antão, there was a promise that Lombo de Cal would also be electrified, which has yet to be fulfilled.

Inforpress learned from the Porto Novo Municipal Council that the electrification of Lombo de Cal is on the agenda of the local authority, which has already carried out the topographic survey of this locality, with a view to implementing the project.

The electricity coverage rate in the municipality of Porto Novo is 91 percent (%).
