Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of Culture and Creative Industries (MCIC) said that the Government will continue to invest to ensure better quality of URDI. Augusto Veiga made this statement at the opening of the 9th edition of URDI, which took place this Wednesday, 11th, at Praça Amílcar Cabral, in São Vicente.
Every year, the island of São Vicente welcomes local artisans and those from other islands to share, exchange, exhibit and sell their products and inaugurate the “Salão Created in Cabo Verde”.
“The Government will always be present to guarantee the next editions, because we are aware of how important holding this fair is for the local economy”, he highlights.
Augusto Veiga also stated that the executive intends to continue working with this creative class, whose coordination is under the responsibility of the National Center for Art, Crafts and Design – CNAD.
“CNAD has done an excellent job with the artisans and the group is well organized”, he highlights.
In total, there are 87 stands and 172 exhibitors from various islands at the 9th edition of URDI, which takes place under the motto “(RE)integration of matter”.
Until Sunday, exhibitions, great conversations, artistic residencies, exhibitions and the Created in Cabo Verde Salon will take place in Mindelo, as well as musical moments.
