The urban redevelopment of the town of Sumbango, north of the coast of the city of Igreja, Mosteiros, was inaugurated this Saturday by the mayor of Mosteiros, Fábio Vieira.The urban requalification works in Sumbango include the main street and the access road to the São Filipe chapel, the old fountain and surrounding areas and the local square, where the old children’s garden was transformed into a music school, which will be opened soon.
According to Inforprpres, which cites a press release from the city council of Mosteiros, the streets now have a “new look ”, the sidewalk has been replaced and the walls rehabilitated and transformed into art painting canvases, highlighting that the square, now with a ramp access, gained a modern playground with resin and non-slip mosaic flooring.
The urban requalification of Sumbango represents a global investment, using the municipal treasury, of more than 15 thousand contos, whereas the infrastructure rehabilitation works required more than eight thousand contos.
As part of the inauguration of the urban requalification of Sumbango, the council planned a series of activities, from community entertainment and the Ritmo & Poesia program, to the final of the RAP competition, says the source of this newspaper.
