New Law Eases Regularization of Public Employment

Africa-Press – Cape verde. Law No. 58/X/2025, which amends the II Program for Regularization of Precarious Employment Relationships in the Public Administration, came into effect today. The new law eliminates steps such as the competitive examination and individual application, aiming to simplify and expedite the integration of precarious workers into government services.

This information is available in the Official Gazette of this Tuesday, the 5th.

The new law aims to accelerate and simplify the process of integrating precarious employees into government services, thus eliminating the need for public competitive examinations and establishing the principle of ex officio status, eliminating the need for employees to submit a request for regularization.

With this measure, the Government aims to reduce bureaucracy and speed up the process of recognizing employment relationships with the Public Administration, including professionals who perform permanent functions in departments, services, or agencies of the Direct and Indirect Public Administration.

The legislation applies to employees with a service contract valid until June 30, 2023, a fixed-term employment contract until December 31, 2023, or an employment contract concluded without prior competitive examination.

It also covers image analysts for container and baggage scanners, who will become part of the Revenue Technician career.

The National Directorate of Public Administration (DNAP) and the Ministry of State Modernization and Public Administration recommend that employees in precarious employment, or those who know someone in this situation, monitor the official channels (website and social media) to consult the lists of employees covered by the regularization within the next seven business days.
