Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Judiciary Police, in Mindelo, carried out, this Wednesday, 24, a search and seizure operation in the Municipality of São Vicente, as part of a criminal proceeding for qualified fraud. The same is related to the purchase and sale of land on the island.
In a statement sent to the press this afternoon, the Judiciary Police (PJ) indicates that the operation was led by the Economic and Financial Crimes Investigation Brigade (BICEF), in possession of six search, search and seizure warrants, issued by the Attorney General’s Office. and Judicial Court of the District of São Vicente.
The objective was to learn land purchase and sale contracts, certificates, deeds, receipts, checks, projects, within the scope of an instruction process “still in an embryonic stage”.

During the operation, says the PJ, a representative of the Public Ministry, the Public Prosecutor of the Economic and Financial Crimes Section was present.
Searches, searches and seizures were also carried out at a real estate company, belonging to one of those involved in the process, and searches were also carried out in two private residences belonging to two of those involved in the same process.
The search resulted in the seizure of “various documents”, computer equipment, contracts, location plans, powers of attorney, land registration certificates, certificates and deeds from the Municipality of São Vicente, among other documents.
They will be subjected to examination and evaluation, he guarantees. The PJ did not clarify, however, whether the case in question refers to the current team or to a previous team.
