Africa-Press – Cape verde. The company Águas de Porto Novo (APN) has already normalized 50% of the city’s water production. Part of the users already have the service re-established, after the breakdown in the machines for capturing and producing desalinated water.
“IDAM is producing at 50 percent (%) of its capacity, that is, at 500 cubic meters per day, and there is a feed pump and another pump for loading damaged trucks, after water has entered the engines. electric vehicles”, informs the APN.
According to the company’s management, efforts are being made to repair this equipment, with a view to normalizing water production in the city of Porto Novo, where around 10,000 people live.
“ Most users” already have water
Water production is being recovered and the municipal distribution tank has already been filled, with “a large part of users having the service restored”, the same source said, informing that “in parallel” the trucks for the housing complex Casa para Todos and other locations in the municipality of Porto Novo.
Likewise, the APN, according to the statement, is taking “preventive measures to safeguard the situation in case the forecasts of heavy rains are confirmed” today in the country.
Whenever it rains in large quantities, in the city of Porto Novo, as happened last week, floods invade the APN facilities, a fact caused by the urbanization works of the Municipal Stadium, located close to the desalination plant.
