Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Executive Secretariat of the Committee for the Coordination and Combat of AIDS (CCS-SIDA) is holding a workshop this Monday, 27, in Praia, for the training of reproductive health professionals in the context of HIV elimination in Cape Verde.
The workshop promoted within the scope of the program “Investing to achieve Malaria Elimination and impact on the fight against Tuberculosis and HIV in Cape Verde”, secondly aims, in a press release, to improve the quality of health in this specialty.
The two-day training action (27th and 28th of June) aims to “contribute to the improvement of the quality of the provision of integrated care in sexual and reproductive health and child health in primary care structures”.
This workshop for training reproductive health professionals also aims to improve the quality of the system for collecting, managing and analyzing sexual and reproductive health data for rational use in decision-making. Topics to be addressed
The training that takes place in the meeting room of the National Institute of Public Health, will address issues related to Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), including HIV-AIDS; prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV and syphilis/congenital syphilis in Cape Verde; care and follow-up of the HIV pregnant woman, as well as the care and follow-up of the child born to an HIV mother.
Also on the agenda for debate are topics such as “The way to eliminate mother-to-child transmission of HIV and syphilis-Criteria and guidelines”, “Management and quality of data for decision-making in health”, and “Statistics in SRH and the monthly reports – DHIS2”.
