Africa-Press – Cape verde. The General Inspectorate for Economic Activities (IGAE) seized several school textbooks in a commercial establishment located in Fazenda, Praia, which was not accredited by Ficase for the purpose. In addition, they were being sold at a higher price than listed. As Paulo Monteiro, IGAE’s Inspector General, confirmed to Inforpress, school textbooks were being sold at a price higher than that established in the public sales table by that institution, thus constituting an infringement against the economy.
441 manuals seized
According to the IGAE, all the manuals that were on the shelves were seized, in a total of 441, being 13 volumes of four books of the 1st year, 16 volumes of four books of the 2nd year, 20 volumes of 3 books of the 3rd year year, 19 volumes of four books of the 4th year, 10 volumes of seven books of the fifth year, nine volumes of seven books of the 6th year, eight volumes of seven books of the 8th year. During the operation, the inspectors did not find 7th grade books because they had already been “all sold”. IGAE guarantees that it will continue to monitor the situation of the sale of school books by unauthorized establishments with “a lot of attention”, since the sale value is above the table set by Ficase. As for this establishment in Fazer, the inspector-general of IGAE said that he will prepare an administrative infraction, which could result in a fine.
