Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Presidents of the Ordens dos Farmacêuticos (OF) of Cape Verde and Portugal met this Monday, the 13th, in a meeting held at the provisional headquarters of the OF, in Lisbon. On the table is cooperation between the two homologous institutions.
Marcília Fernandes, Chairman of the Order of Pharmacists of Cape Verde, met with her Portuguese counterpart, Hélder Mota Filipe, to share together the priorities, projects and initiatives under way in the respective institutions, in a reinforcement of cooperation.
As the website of that Portuguese Order advances, the host explained to his Cape Verdean counterpart the process of developing new pharmaceutical services, professional standards and pharmaceutical skills, underway in Portugal, thus expressing the availability for the two institutions to collaborate in sharing information and background documentation on developments in this sector.
That is why he highlighted the importance of collaboration and pharmaceutical intervention in the fields of research and innovation, referring to the development work of Pharmaceutical Competence in Clinical Investigation.
Process of recognition of qualifications
The importance of education, training and professional development of pharmacists was another issue discussed at the meeting.
The two officials also shared information on the processes for admission and recognition of qualifications for Cape Verdean pharmacists.
It should be noted that Marcília Fernandes, president of the Order of Pharmacists of Cape Verde was in Portugal participating in the 14th Congress of Pharmacies with the theme “Health close to all”, which took place in Lisbon, between the 9th and 11th of this month.
