Africa-Press – Cape verde. Botafogo won three points at the table, referring to the game of the 12th round, in which it was defeated by Grito Povo (1-2), and jumped to the leadership of the regional championship of the first level, on equal terms with Vulcânico.
The Botafogo team, following the defeat, filed a protest alleging the irregular use of a player from the Grito Povo team, with the Jurisdictional Council of the Regional Football Association of Fogo considering the protest valid, as it was filed in good time.
In a statement released on Wednesday, 08, the Jurisdictional Council stressed that “there are no nullities, prior or incidental issues that make it impossible for the council to know and pronounce on the request”.
Grito Povo player should serve a suspension game
After analyzing the facts contained in the protest, the council said that the player from Grito Povo, in question, had three yellow cards, and that in light of the Disciplinary Regulations of the Cabo Verdean Football Federation, FCF, he was obliged to play a game suspension and could not be used in the game against Botafogo, referring to the 12th round.

As the player was used irregularly, his team should be punished with a 3-0 defeat pursuant to the provisions of article 12, paragraph e) of the FCF Regulation, he justified.
In view of the facts, the Jurisdictional Council, by unanimity of its members, “judges in favor, as proven, the protest presented by Botafogo”.
Afterwards, he decided to apply the penalty provided for in article 54o, no 1 of the Disciplinary Regulations of the FCF, the penalty of defeat for the Grito Povo team, and indicated that the definitive victory of the protestant club, Botafogo, by 3-0 with ensuing right to three points.
With this decision, the classification table changes and the Botafogo team, which had 27 points, now has 30, the same as Vulcânico.

Ranking is thus ordered: Botafogo and Vulcânico 30 points, Académica 29, Cutelinho 24, Unidos do Norte 19, ABC de Patim 12, Nô Pintcha 11, Grito Povo and Valencia 10 and Desportivo de Cova Figueira with six points.
