The solidarity effort is being coordinated by the National Civil Protection and Fire Service, which will be responsible for sorting and distributing the donations to displaced families and shelters on the island, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced in a statement.
The cargo was transported by the vessel BMI Express.
“The National Civil Protection and Fire Service, on behalf of the affected populations, thanks the generosity of the people of Sal, reiterating that all solidarity counts and makes a difference in rebuilding the dignity and well-being of the affected families,” the MAI statement emphasized.
