The meeting, according to a note published on the official page of the Santa Catarina do Fogo City Council on social media, took place at the Town Hall and its main objective was to share ongoing projects, take stock of the current administration and discuss strategies for the future development of the municipality.
According to the note, during the meeting, Alberto Nunes presented “an overview” of the current situation of the municipality and highlighted the ongoing projects with guaranteed funding, those already implemented and those yet to be implemented, in addition to having analyzed with his successor the functioning of municipal services and the region’s heritage.
According to the note, the current mayor stressed his confidence that the new team will govern with respect for democratic principles and the choices of the citizens and committed to collaborating throughout the future governance, sharing the experiences acquired during the two terms, always with the aim of promoting the development of the municipality of Santa Catarina do Fogo.
The elected mayor, who will be responsible for governing the municipality for the next four years, Manuel Teixeira, thanked the invitation and highlighted the importance of continuing to work together to ensure the sustainable growth of Santa Catarina do Fogo.
“I hope to be able to count on the collaboration of the outgoing team and municipal employees to continue our progress”, said the elected mayor, according to the note published on the official website of the council.
The outgoing mayor, who will remain in office until the winning team from the local elections on 1 December takes office, proposed holding a new meeting, with the presence of the current and elected council teams, to formalise the transfer of portfolios and administrative files and reinforced the commitment to a transparent transition aligned with the interests of the population of Santa Catarina do Fogo.
