Africa-Press – Cape verde. The São Vicente Health Department announced this Wednesday, the 13th, that it is implementing an emergency plan to restore the cold chain and vaccines, in addition to strengthening cross-cutting responses to mitigate risks and ensure the population’s healthcare package.
This measure follows the damage caused by the heavy flooding of recent days at the Bela Vista Health Center.
According to the institution, the damage to equipment and infrastructure required the temporary transfer of services.
Therefore, patients within the Bela Vista Health Center’s coverage area will now receive medical appointments, nursing care, and other services at the Health Department itself.
Wound care is currently being provided at the Ribeirinha and Monte Sossego Health Centers.
The Department assures that the priority is to protect the population’s health and restore normal services as quickly as possible.
“We ask for everyone’s collaboration and understanding during this difficult period and reaffirm our commitment to working tirelessly,” the statement said.
