Africa-Press – Cape verde. The president of the Municipal Assembly (AM) of São Vicente assured that she will be attentive and supervise the next steps of the municipal council, which should “start from scratch” after all the sessions held so far have been cancelled.
Dora Pires was speaking to Inforpress, following the report received on Thursday, 25th, which includes the response from the Ministry of Territorial Cohesion, to whom AM requested an assessment of the impasse situation and some friction experienced since last January, in São Vicente City Council.
The answer, according to the same source, arrived about a month after the request, showing a “fast and well-done job”, carried out from a “very deep investigation”.
“This report gives us a breath of fresh air in the sense that it seems to us a white flag for peace”, considered Dora Pires, adding that “roughly” the report canceled the session held on January 2nd, organized with the presence of of the president, Augusto Neves, and councilors from the MpD, but without those from the opposition, PAICV and UCID.
According to him, “all the deliberations made in the session were considered null due to the facts that preceded their accomplishment”.

On the other hand, according to the document, deliberations taken in sessions held without the presence of the president and councilors of the MpD must also be considered “null”.
“This shows that we must start from scratch this year, which is already almost three thirds, with only three months left to complete it”, clarified the president of AM, adding that now the chamber and the opposition councilors, who have a time to 11 days to react, they will analyze the document and justify, “but there will certainly be compliance”.
Now, added the same source, Augusto Neves and the other eight councilors “must sit at the table, dialogue and do the work of all these months, with unity and determination for the good of São Vicente”.
On the part of the AM, Dora Pires promises to supervise and be attentive to make up for the lost time of 16 council sessions without holding, which also caused delays in two sessions in the body she directs.
The official hopes to receive “as soon as possible” the activities report and management account for 2021 and also the budget for the next year, which is in time to be analyzed.
