Africa-Press – Eswatini. A new dawn of development is unfolding in Mayiwane Inkhundla, where government has pledged to transform the state of local roads and improve access for communities.

On Friday, September 13, 2025, a delegation from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, led by the Principal Secretary, Under Secretary, Chief Roads Engineer and other senior officials, toured the area to assess road conditions.

The ministry announced that rehabilitation works will soon commence, beginning with Ntokozweni, Mawombe and Herefords roads before rolling out to other parts of the inkhundla.

This commitment adds to a growing list of development milestones in Mayiwane. On August 8, 2025, residents celebrated the handover of the Tebetebe Bridge by Micro Projects with support from Engineers in Action, a project that has made travel to Buhleni and surrounding areas easier.

A week earlier, on August 1,2025 Herefords Primary School received a long-awaited water project from Micro Projects in collaboration with American students, ensuring clean water supply for learners and the community.

In July, Mayiwane also welcomed the newly constructed Herefords roads, further boosting connectivity in the area.

Local leadership has hailed these projects as a sign of progress. “We have an obligation to change the lives of our people,” they said, reaffirming their commitment to community upliftment.
