Africa-Press – Eswatini. King Mswati is allegedly waiting for a comprehensive report on Chief Justice Bheki Maphalala amid corruption allegations, before appointing the Judicial Service Commission(JSC). The CJ was previously exposed in a series of investigative articles, he also stands accused of defrauding Government over R1million in housing allowances.

But according to information sourced from the Anti Corruption Commission(ACC), the CJ might face over twenty(20) counts of fraud and corruption.

The ACC has been vigorously working with the Financial Intelligence Unit in investigating the CJ, even his cattle has been traced and some previous owners have “recorded statements after being questioned why they transferred their cattle to Chief Justice Bheki Maphalalala”.

ACC Spokesperson Jabu Phakathi declined to comment but, King’s Spokesperson Percy Simelane previously told that, the delay by the King in appointing the JSC was meant to ensure that, rightful people of integrity “are appointed adding that, the King would rather delay but have a credible Judicial Service Commission”.

Efforts to seek a comment from the Chief Justice proved unsuccessful the time of compiling this report.

This week,State police arrested Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo amid rape allegations and this publication gathered that more high profile arrests are looming.

But a confidential ACC file seen by this journalist suggests that, Chief Justice Bheki Maphalala might face arrest for abusing his powers as Head of the Judiciary to engage in corruption including demanding and accepting bribes to influence judgements.
