Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Green Living Movement and Deaf Association are hosting an All Abilities Sports Day.
The sports day aims to acquaint the community with the realm of disability through sports and environmentally-friendly activities. The event will take place at Coronation Park in Mbabane.
These was confirmed by Ntombifuthi Mavuso, the Director of the Green Living and Deaf Association, who emphasised that the event, scheduled for Saturday, intended to bring individuals with disabilities together with the public, fostering a sense of belonging within the community.
The event, set to commence at 9am and conclude at 3pm, welcomes participants from ages six to 60. An array of games will be featured, including tennis, soccer, netball, chess, hoola hoops and tug-of-war. In addition to the sports activities, attendees will have the opportunity to witness live demonstrations on crafting jewellery from waste materials and receive basic sign language instruction.
“Admission is free; however, we kindly encourage attendees to contribute a loaf of bread or a donation of E20. Snacks and beverages can be purchased on-site,” Mavuso stated. Those who are interested to contribute can contact 7871 1965. Mavuso extended a warm invitation to everyone, emphasising the significance of their presence in ensuring the success of the day. It should be noted that the event not only focuses on individuals with disabilities but also seeks to promote physical fitness through sports.
