Africa-Press – Eswatini. Assistant Commissioner Vusi Gama was reported to the Anti Corruption Commission(ACC) for selecting his child Mpendulo Gama who is not a cop to enrol for a Diploma in Policing with the Cairo-Egypt Police Academy.
But according to information sourced from the ACC, the investigation was subsequently sabotaged by Chief Investigator Bhekithemba Dlamini after receiving a plot or land situated at Fonteyn-Mbabane from the Assistant Commissioner, as an alleged bribe.
The investigation was handled by the ACC Investigator after being approved by the ACC Complaints Committee to proceed to the investigation stage, the Committee was responsible for reviewing if the information amounts to reasonable suspicion suggesting that, Assistant Commissioner Gama allegedly engaged in corruption.
ACC Spokesperson Jabu Phakathi declined to comment about these allegations.
But the police released an online report confirming that, Khulekani Nxumalo, aged twenty-four(24) and Mpendulo Gama, aged twenty(20) have completed the two(2)-year course through the Africa Police Cadets Programme in Egypt and are now equipped with enhanced skills essential to addressing the evolving policing challenges faced by the country.
The corruption was exposed after it transpired that, these children were too young and members of the public were questioning when did they join the police organization to even qualify to be selected for this Egypt training.
It has been confirmed that, “these are children of the senior police officers and that, they are not police officers” but despite the corruption surrounding their enrollment, they were welcomed back by National Commissioner Vusi Manoma Masango.
