Africa-Press – Eswatini. Army Commander Moses Mashikilisane Fakudze summoned Commanding Officers(COs) on Thursday morning, he then directed them to inform junior soldiers within the various Barracks that they won’t receive any salary increment this month.
It has been disclosed that, the recently concluded salary review did not include security forces and as a result, police and Correctional Services Officers will not receive any increment this month as expected.
Reached for comments, Army Spokesperson Lieutenant Tengetile Khumalo urged this publication to contact the Ministry of Defense and State Security.
“It\’s a very administrative issue Nkhosi. Kindly touch base with the pertinent Ministry Mlangeni in this regard”, said the Army Spokesperson.
Efforts to reach Under Secretary in the Ministry of Defense and State Security Sanele Malambe proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
Speaking to this publication, Sergeant Dumsile Khumalo, the Secretary General of the Royal Eswatini Police Staff Association(REPOSA) confirmed knowledge of the matter.
“We aware that soldiers were officially informed that they won’t receive any salary increment and, we have been told that even police officers won’t receive the increment. Nawubuka bo-Mabulala yini inhloso yabo mbamba-mbamba?. Why are they working towards ‘burning’ this country?”, said the REPOSA Secretary General.
On another note, Manqoba Lukhele, the Chairperson of the Correctional Services Staff Association released a statement, confirming that Correctional Services Officers won’t receive the increment this month.
“Following a meeting held today(23-10-2025) with the consultant at the Correctional Headquarters(CHQ), it has transpired that the consultant has still not finalized the report for security forces. In the absence of this report, Government is expected to provide clarification on the way forward, especially in regard to October 27th which is the date Government pronounced as official pay day for civil servants”, said the Chairperson of the Correctional Services Staff Association.
