Africa-Press – Eswatini. The MTN Bushfire festival ended on a high note on Sunday!

Lined-up artists such as Msaki and Bholoja gave unforgettable performances. They indeed understood the assignment, as they literally gave fans something to munch on, on their way home.

Starting up the day was Mandisi Dyantyis, who gave a stellar performance. Most festival-goers were looking forward to Msaki’s performance who left fun-lovers yearning for more and, for the first time at the MTN Bushfire festival, on Sunday evening the main arena was still packed as all festival-goers waited to watch the legendary Bholoja’s performance.

He mounted the stage at 8pm, and closed the festival on a high. Bholoja’s fire was a blazing furnace. Festival-goers were literally eating from the palm of his hands, pleading for more of his rendition. It would have not been Bholoja’s performance without a beautiful rendition of ‘Mbombela’ and ‘Indzawo Yami’. The matured crowd from main arena and the golden lounge could not control themselves but did their old school dance moves.

He thrilled the crowd with his last rendition of ‘You and I’, a song that has made him a legend that he is today.

Day three of the festival saw a chilled and jazzy vibe dominate the arena, with festival-goers already looking forward to the performances of the day.

Some acts performed on various stages, such as the Amphitheatre stage and the super-energetic Firefly Stage. Artists who performed at the Firefly stage were mostly local and their sets were top tier. These were The Bishops, Parcel, Speech Umlangeni, Trebdy Twins, DJ Cup and Lady Cream.

Director of the festival Jiggs Thorne bid farewell to festival-goers and announced that next year’s edition is slated for the weekend of May 24- 26, 2023. When making his remarks, Thorne said this was the best festival since its inception 17 years ago.
