Africa-Press – Eswatini. CAPITAL city giants, Mbabane Swallows are edging closer to securing another sponsorship deal with a multi-national sportswear factory based in Cape Town, South Africa.
Highly-placed sources within the club revealed that the deal will be launched in the coming weeks after fruitful negotiations between the two parties.
The technical sponsor will see the team receiving training kits, soccer kits, tracksuits, golf T-shirts and bags, among other items.
This publication has it in good authority that senior Swallows officials, led by Board of Governor Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane, travelled to South Africa recently to clinch the deal.
The terms of the deal are yet to be revealed, while samples of the kits have already been shown to the Swallows family.
“It’s a major deal that will benefit the club immensely, and Swallows people are preparing for a launch in the coming weeks,” said the source.
Swallows Public Relations Officer Knowledge ‘Bhambo’ Ngwenya confirmed the deal without revealing details.
“How did you get to know about this because it’s a private matter?
But the truth is, a sponsorship is coming although I don’t have the finer details. Our PLE Board of Governor and legal advisor have more details,” he said.
The latest deal is expected to ease the team from financial challenges, especially from the sale of replicas.
Umkhonto kaShaka as Mbabane Swallows are fondly known, recently clinched another E420 000 Aquelle sponsorship. This deal will see the team receiving 2 600 units of bottled water per month and 1 800 energy drinks.
Leading fast food caterers, Eclipse Investment, also take care of matters of the stomach in the form of meals worth E24 000 a month.
