Africa-Press – Eswatini. MBABANE Swallows have parted ways with assistant coach Musa Manyatsi ahead of the new season kick-off in September.

The lanky former Sihlangu Semnikati goalkeeper coach walked out of the Birds nest on Saturday after the two parties ended the five-year marriage.

He had joined the red and white side during the 2018/19 season during the era of Princess Lungile and wife to the late former boss Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze.

He recently missed Swallows’ trip to South Africa, where they faced Dstv premiership side Amazulu in the Africa day celebration tournament played at Harry Gwala Stadium. He has worked as assistant with several coaches such as Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe, Honour Janza, (Zambia), Christopher Ennin (Ghana) and the incumbent Caleb Ngwenya.

He once occupied the hot seat during the 2021/22 season where he replaced Ennin.

The soft-spoken former national Under 17 assistant coach confirmed the move.

“It’s true I have parted ways with Mbabane Swallows after my contract expired and nothing was communicated to me concerning any re-engagement. I wish the club the best of luck in its future endeavours,” he said.

Swallows General Manager and governor Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane could not be drawn for comment on the matter.

The former Denver Sundowns mentor won the coach of the year award during the 2021/22 season.

Manyatsi was part of the Sihlangu technical bench during the era of Dutch coach Pieter de Jongh.
