Africa-Press – Eswatini. Singer Mandisa Mamba and rapper Milkiee believe that confidence is the key to making bold statements in one’s craft. The artists said they were bold in their craft because they have the confidence to give their craft everything they have for it to be different.

They said this also helped them become unique. Speaking to Mandisa Mamba, she explained that she was not afraid to be herself and that was what made her bold. However being bold came with a lot of criticism, but Mamba said she had mastered the art of handling it by just ignoring the comments.

“I make sure to consistently work on polishing my performance skills. I have always been inspired by Beyonce and most recently Kelly Khumalo,” Mamba said. Mamba shared advice to any upcoming artist scared to move out of their comfort zone to trust their inner guidance and do what they set their soul free as long as they were not harming anyone.

Another artist who has been seen taking bold steps in her art has been rapper Milkiee. Milkiee shared that everything she does stemed from self belief. She said it helped her become bold and confident in the way she expressed herself in her craft.

“I also get negative comments and criticism more often than one would think. It usually comes from men who feel the need to want to humble me, I do not know why but it truly is funny to witness. More often than not, it is because they do not like how free and comfortable I am with expressing anything sexual. “I just laugh it off.

If it is valid I will take it and implement it,” she explained. Milkie furthure stated that what made her performances exciting and unique was because she rehearsed in any space prior to the show; listen to her music over and over again and try to picture the crowd she would be performing for with the set up.

She also gave advice to upcoming artists who were scared to show off their talent and express themselves in the way they wanted. “There is no one like you, and there will never be anyone like you after you.

That on its own should be your biggest flex. Be confident about who you are, what you have to offer and what you bring to the table. People will always talk whether you’re doing bad or good. You might as well give them something worth talking about,” she added.
