Africa-Press – Eswatini. The BSA Training Center, known for its hands-on approach to learning through its slogan “Learn by Doing,” has launched a free community service initiative aimed at giving back to society.

The program primarily benefits elderly citizens aged 60 and above, those below this age should be disable people, as well as public and private sector institutions located between the Manzini and Mbabane corridor. According to Lungile Fakudze, BSA’s Office Administrator at Manzini branch, the initiative began three weeks ago and will continue until the end of June. Manzini branch is assisting communities closer to Manzini, while residents around Mbabane and Motjane are being served by the Mbabane and Motjane branches.

“The type of service offered depends on what is needed,” Fakudze explained. Some services are provided at your place. “For example, you can not bring your house in for electrical wiring, but mobile items like vehicles can be brought to our centers for assistance” she added.

Services provided through the initiative include electrical work, plumbing, auto mechanics, and health and safety. BSA students, under professional supervision, are actively engaged in delivering these services gaining practical experience while giving back to the community.

Manzini Nazarene High School recently received assistance with a stationary van. Auto Electrical students repaired its faulty lights, while Health and Safety students ensured that all tasks were performed safely and according to proper procedures.

Muzi Dlamini, a 64-year-old resident of Lobamba, expressed his gratitude after BSA students repaired his ISUZU 300L KB, which had been stationary for nearly three months. “I thought I would never drive my bakkie again,” he said. “These young people brought it back to life. I am truly thankful for their help”.

BSA Training Center is committed to expanding the initiative to rural areas in the future. However, they encourage anyone who can transport their items even from as far as Lavumisa, Nhlangano, or Lomahasha to reach out.
