Africa-Press – Eswatini. Richard Velaphi Maliba, the Mafucula Mnyangombili(Pty) Ltd Chairman who allegedly defrauded members or residents in a multimillion European Union(EU) funded sugar project, has built a house worth over R5million within three(3) months triggering tension among members who were allegedly removed from the project without a valid reason.
It is alleged that, the Chairman colluded with “BatfwaBenkhosi from Shewula” to remove other members of project saying they were not residents of Mafucula and therefore, does not qualify to benefit from the sugar project.
The Chairman avoided questions, tried to seek a comment regarding the matter on Monday afternoon.
It has been reported that, residents of Mafucula established Mnyangombili(Pty) Ltd in an effort to fight poverty and they subsequently received funding from the European Union.
But after the project started generating over R30million per-year with part of the money shared among the residents, BatfwabeNkhosi from ka-Shewula subsequently developed a financial interest and colluded with the Chairman to grab the project.
As a result, some of the residents are living in poverty while BatfwabeNkhosi, the Chairman and other Executive members of Mnyangombili(Pty) Ltd live an extravagant lifestyle.
