Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Eswatini National Provident Fund (ENPF) has handed over a fully completed house to Simeon Dlamini, a 68-year-old resident of Sihhoye, in a move that brings hope, dignity, and security.
The handover was officially conducted by Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla, demonstrating ENPF’s commitment to social responsibility and its support of His Majesty King Mswati III’s vision of safe and decent housing for all.
The house, fully funded by ENPF, is a one-room dwelling with a water tank, providing Dlamini with safe shelter and access to water for daily use and farming activities.During the ceremony, ENPF Board Chair Derrick Shiba, Chief Executive Officer Futhi Tembe, management, staff, and the Dlamini family joined in celebrating the milestone. ENPF also donated groceries and clothing for Dlamini and the surrounding community, emphasising that the initiative goes beyond housing to improve overall community welfare.
Speaking during the event, ENPF Chairman Derrick Shiba reassured the public that the funds used for the house came from penalties imposed on clients who failed to comply with regulations, not from members’ pension savings. “Our goal is to give back responsibly, ensuring that every intervention benefits those most in need while protecting the integrity of our members’ funds,” he said.
Overcome with gratitude, Dlamini said the house has transformed his life. “I feel safe, respected, and cared for. I thank His Majesty, the Deputy Prime Minister, and ENPF for remembering me in my old age. This home gives me peace and dignity,” he said.
Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla praised ENPF for its meaningful contribution. “This home is more than just a shelter. It is a symbol of hope, care, and national solidarity. ENPF has shown how organisations can play a critical role in uplifting our people,” she said.
The handover adds to a series of impactful community initiatives by ENPF this year, including other home donations and social projects, while the Fund continues to deliver value to its members, highlighted by the recently declared 10% interest rate return.
This initiative reflects ENPF’s commitment to ensuring that every intervention brings dignity, stability, and long-term value, reinforcing the Fund’s dedication to improving the lives of vulnerable citizens and supporting His Majesty’s vision for a better Eswatini.
