Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Government of Eswatini, through Minister of Information communication and technology Savannah Maziya, has announced a strategic partnership with a leading United Arab Emirates (UAE) artificial intelligence company revealed during a recent official address in Mbabane , aimed at driving national digital transformation and modernisation. The collaboration is part of a broader Memorandum of Understanding between Eswatini and the United Arab Emirates , and will focus on deploying advanced AI technologies to improve public services, safety, and economic growth.
Speaking during the engagement, the Minister highlighted that the UAE-based firm, owned by the UAE government, operates at the forefront of artificial intelligence, energy, and advanced technologies. She described Eswatini as fortunate to host such expertise, noting that the partnership is anchored in ongoing bilateral cooperation.
Maziya said the collaboration would support Eswatini’s ambition to fully digitise its systems while enhancing efficiency across sectors, including public safety and service delivery. She pointed to the success of Dubai as an example of how advanced AI systems can improve security and everyday life, describing it as one of the safest cities globally due to innovative technological solutions.
The initiative aligns with the national vision championed by His Majesty Mswati III, which seeks to transform Eswatini into a modern, first-world nation. According to the Minister, adopting AI-driven solutions will not only improve convenience for citizens but also strengthen governance and economic growth.
Beyond technology, the partnership reflects strengthening bilateral relations between Eswatini and the UAE. Previous engagements, including participation in global tech forums, have laid the groundwork for knowledge exchange, skills development, and potential investment opportunities in the ICT sector.
For ordinary emaSwati, the impact of such initiatives could be far-reaching. From faster government services to safer communities and improved digital access, the benefits of AI integration are expected to touch daily life. Young people, in particular, may find new opportunities in emerging tech industries as the country builds its digital capacity.
As African nations increasingly pursue global partnerships to close the digital gap, Eswatini’s move signals a proactive approach to embracing innovation. The collaboration is not just about technology, but about shaping a future-ready nation equipped to compete in a rapidly evolving digital world.
