Africa-Press – Eswatini. Baphalali Eswatini Red Cross Society has provided First Aid training to members of Political Parties Assembly(PPA), Multi-Stakeholder Forum(MSF)and the Swaziland Massacre Victims and Survivors Association(SWAVISA).

The training was held at The George Hotel from 18th to 20th May 2022.

Speaking during the training, Mbongiseni Shabangu, PPA Head of Secretariat, thanked Red Cross for soliciting funding for this important training.

“We are truly excited and grateful for the support we have always had from Red Cross. As progressives, we requested this training in our recent meeting with them. It is very important for our people to be trained on First Aid as we are always in danger of being injured in our struggle. Red Cross promised to do their best to get the funding which is always a limiting factor on their work.Today we are happy they have kept their promise. We send our sincere thanks also to the Finnish Red Cross, whom we have heard are the ones who provided the funds,” said the PPA Head of Secretariat.

Thulani Simelane, Red Cross First Aid Coordinator, said it was their mandate to provide First Aid services to all people without distinction of race or creed.

“The funding allowed us to train at least two representatives from each of the organisations. While we do our best to be available wherever we are needed, factors like lack of funds and inadequate vehicles are always a limiting factor. First Aid is a very important and life-saving skill. We promote and endeavour that all people are trained in first aid,” he said.
