Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Kingdom of Eswatini has once again demonstrated its growing strength in quality and innovation, with several local enterprises and individuals receiving top honours at the prestigious 2024/25 Southern African Development Community (SADC) Quality Awards.
This annual event, which celebrates excellence in various sectors, has become a hallmark of recognition for organizations striving to enhance quality standards across the region.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, Manqoba Khumalo, who expressed pride in the achievements of Eswatini-based organizations.
“This esteemed competition, which promotes quality awareness and encourages excellence across SADC Member States, saw exceptional performances from Eswatini-based organizations in multiple categories,” Khumalo stated.
The awards not only highlight the commitment of these enterprises to quality but also their role in fostering innovation and competitiveness within the regional market.
The winners will be formally recognized during the 8th SADC Industrialization Week, scheduled to take place from July 28 to August 2, 2025, in Antananarivo, Madagascar.
This event will bring together leaders from various sectors to discuss industrialization, trade, and investment opportunities within the SADC region, further amplifying the significance of the awards.
Among the notable winners from Eswatini are:
* Company of the Year – Large Enterprises: Eswatini Meat Industries, recognized for its exceptional quality and service delivery, received a trophy and certificate for its outstanding performance in the meat processing industry.
* Company of the Year – Small and Medium Enterprises: The National Disaster Management Agency was awarded for its exemplary efforts in managing disaster risks and ensuring community resilience, showcasing the importance of quality in public service.
3 Eswatini Meat industries were recognised for exceptional quality and service delivery. They won under Company of the Year – Large Enterprises.
* Product of the Year – Small and Medium Enterprises: The Double-Roman Concrete Roof Tile by Swazi Tiles Investments was honoured for its innovation and quality, reflecting the company’s commitment to excellence in the construction materials sector.
In addition to the winners, several organizations and individuals were recognized as first runners-up, showcasing the depth of talent and quality within Eswatini. These included:
* Service of the Year – Large Enterprises: Cerba Lancet Eswatini Laboratories, which received a certificate for its commitment to providing high-quality medical testing services.
* Exporter of the Year – Large Enterprises: RFG Eswatini (Pty) Ltd, recognized for its excellence in export operations, which contribute significantly to the nation’s economy.
* Individual of the Year: Goodwill Matsebula, honoured for his outstanding contributions to quality management practices within his organization, exemplifying leadership in the pursuit of excellence.
Additionally, Rannah Investments (Pvt) Ltd received a Certificate of Recognition for its service quality in the Small and Medium Enterprises category, further emphasizing the diverse range of sectors represented at the awards.
“These accolades not only underscore Eswatini’s commitment to upholding the highest quality standards but also reinforce its growing influence as a competitive player in the regional industrial landscape,” Khumalo remarked.
He further noted that the SADC Quality Awards serve as a vital platform for recognizing enterprises and individuals who consistently strive for excellence in quality management, innovation, and service delivery throughout Southern Africa.
The recognition of these organizations and individuals is a testament to the hard work and dedication that has been poured into their respective fields.
