Africa-Press – Eswatini. Excitement filled the air as FNB Eswatini and WesBank reaffirmed their commitment to local enterprise.

On 13 August, the banks gathered business leaders, government representatives, and entrepreneurs at FNB Eswatini Head Office to unveil their sponsorship for the highly anticipated 2025 Eswatini International Trade Fair (EITF) Win-a-Car Competition, along with the sparkling grand prize, a brand-new Kia Sonet 1.5L LX.

FNB Eswatini CEO Thokozani Dlamini expressed the bank’s passion for empowering communities. “We see ourselves not just as a business, but as a responsible citizen and a reliable partner for the sustainable development of our people and country,” he said.

The sponsorship package totals E430 000, with E230 000 provided through WesBank for the Win-a-Car Competition and E200 000 set aside for the EITF Business Seminars under the theme Digital Transformation 2.0: Creating Business Networks. The Kia Sonet grand prize is the jewel of this contribution.

Last year’s Win-a-Car champion, Olivert Mukabeta, shared how the victory transformed his transport business. “This car changed everything, from meeting clients on time to delivering goods efficiently. It gave me confidence and credibility,” he reflected.

Kia Dealer Principal Ebrahim Baker highlighted the Sonet’s standout features, an 85 kW 1.5L petrol engine, sleek 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, smart key with push-button start, and enhanced safety technology. “It’s a blend of style, convenience, and performance,” he said.

The event served as a shining example of how partnerships between financial institutions, local enterprises, and government can drive economic progress. With the Win-a-Car Competition and expert-led business seminars, SMEs in Eswatini are set to gain knowledge, networks, and inspiration, along with the chance to drive away in a brand-new Kia Sonet.
