Areas that received such a weather pattern in the afternoon included Ngwenya and Mpolonjeni, while Nkhaba received freezing rain around the morning hours. According to Forecasting officers, Sidney Lukhele and Victor Motsa, following that South Africa received a lot of snow, the areas closer to the borderline were the ones that collected the freezing rain.

Improving

Lukhele said instead of temperatures improving, they were continuing to decrease. He said from today, the weather was expected to pick up though and become partly cloudy with cold temperatures. There will be morning frost at places, otherwise partly cloudy and very cold in the Highveld. Tomorrow, morning fog at places has been predicted, otherwise it will be partly cloudy with cloudy intervals and cold but mild in the Lowveld. On Thursday, there will be morning frost. It will be fine and mild but warm in the Lowveld, while on Friday it will be partly cloudy and mild but warm in the Lowveld.
