Africa-Press – Eswatini. A major combined health and agriculture outreach initiative recently brought immediate relief and long term benefits to the Ntondozi Inkhundla, where over 300 residents received comprehensive support designed to enhance their well being and promote sustainable healthy living.

The successful outreach provided free medical consultations, essential medication, and crucial cancer screening. But the event went beyond standard healthcare by prioritizing sustainable health and nutrition.

Sustainable Health Through Local Food

In addition to medical check ups, residents benefited from practical nutrition education focused on healthy living. The outreach specifically promoted sustainable nutrition by distributing traditional vegetable seeds. Attendees learned about the health benefits of indigenous vegetables through tastings and expert sessions, highlighting their role as affordable, locally available, and highly nutritious food sources.

To provide immediate relief, households also received rice parcels. In total, 349 people were served, receiving a valuable combination of medical care, food support, and agricultural inputs.

Collaboration Boosts Impact

Local leadership, including Ntondozi MP Peter Ngwenya, played a key role in the initiative, coordinating logistics and mobilizing the community. Organisers praised the strong partnership between health, agriculture, and local leaders, which made it possible to efficiently serve a large number of residents in a single day.

Community members expressed deep appreciation, noting that access to both healthcare and agricultural resources will significantly improve their quality of life. The event successfully demonstrated the value of integrating health and agriculture in community development to provide both immediate support and encourage long term healthy practices.
