Africa-Press – Eswatini. WITH the January transfer window opening next week, capital city giants Mbabane Highlanders have moved swiftly to acquire the services of Nsingizini Hotspurs striker Kwadwo Frimpong.
Sources close to the matter revealed that the player had already started training with Highlanders.
It is understood that the Ghanaian player, who is already in the Bull camp, will put pen to paper before the end of the week as he has his clearance with him. “The deal is almost done as Highlanders have been monitoring the player.
“All I know is that the player has left Nsingizini,” said the source. Mbabane Highlanders Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Dlamini said he was not sure and would have to verify if it was true. “I have to contact our CEO regarding this issue. I will then get back to you,” he said.
Nsingizini Hotspurs CEO Banele Ngobe confirmed that they released the player.
“I do not know anything about the player joining any team. What I can confirm is that we have released the player to join a team of his choice.”Meanwhile, the towering centre forward comes with lots of experience having also played for South African outfits Pretoria Callies and Cape Umoya with Justice Figareido.
The dreadlock forward has been seen as a solution to the team’s blunt striking force.
In the past two matches, the club has been using midfielder Menzi Sithole as false number nine. The Dumisani ‘DU’ Makhanya-led side will this weekend take on Pigg’s Peak Black Swallows in the Ingwenyama Cup at Somhlolo National Stadium.
