HIPNOTIK COMING BACK

Africa-Press – Eswatini. THE renowed hip hop festival Hipnotik is back and it will be for private guests only. The festival was last hosted in 2018. The announcement was made by Swazi Jive Director and founder of Hipnotik Sakhile Nkambule yesterday.

The event will only allow fans who will register on a private website to attend the show. Nkambule said they were doing things differently this year. When asked about when the venue and dates, he said they would announced all that to the guests via their website. “We are not going that route with putting information out like that. It hurts the brand. We will be sharing information about everything, leading up to the shows to all Hipnotik fans that sign up,” he said.

When shutting the festival down, Nkambule said they had faced many challenges that were threatening the future of some of their services and products in the country.

Hipnotik festival was one of the biggest shows in Eswatini since its inception back in 2012. For seven years, the festival hosted some of the biggest hip hop names from Eswatini and beyond. The festival was also one of the biggest economic and tourism contributors in the country as it attracted a number of foreign visitors.

The festival, over the years, gained a huge following, hip hop music fans and the youth. It has been one of the most anticipated events in the country with an attendance of over 5 000 music lovers. They have hosted artists such as AKA, K.O, Kwesta, Nadia Nakai, Nasty C, Cassper Nyovest, A-Reece and many more.

They have also hosted local artists such as Supa CDQ, Kangaroo, Greg XV, and many others.
