Africa-Press – Eswatini. Inkhosikati LaNtentesa joined Melania Trump and other First Ladies to launch Fostering the Future Together, a global coalition for children’s welfare through education and technology.

The event, held during the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York, united spouses of world leaders to advance opportunities for young people in the digital age. Inkhosikati LaNtentesa represented Eswatini, highlighting the Kingdom’s commitment to nurturing its youth.

The US First Lady outlined the coalition’s mission to ensure that every child can flourish in the digital era. She praised technology’s role in saving lives, expanding access to knowledge, connecting people and safety.

She added: “Great minds have turned marbles into microchips, paper aeroplanes into drones and kites into satellites.” Trump urged delegates to recognise that our next generation will use tech to revolutionise how we live, travel, design and connect.

Fostering the Future Together will initially prioritise children’s personal development; unify global efforts in technology and education; collaborate with private sectors for access to artificial intelligence, robotics and blockchain; and exchange insights on AI’s benefits and risks.

The coalition includes spouses or equivalent representatives of heads of government, with initiatives implemented locally. Trump will host the first meeting at the White House in early 2026.

Eswatini’s participation aligns with national goals to enhance digital literacy and innovation in schools. Inkhosikati LaNtentesa’s involvement strengthens Eswatini’s voice in global child welfare efforts, potentially benefiting rural communities with limited technology access.

UN officials hailed the initiative as a step towards bridging the digital divide and Eswatini’s role is expected to foster partnerships and share local solutions globally.
