‘INSTIL CULTURE OF KUHLEHLA IN YOUTH’

Africa-Press – Eswatini. His Majesty King Mswati III has called upon the regiment to instil the culture of kuhlehla among the younger generation.

His Majesty was speaking through Indvuna Cethuka Vilakati at Buhleni Royal Residence when dispersing the regiment after the successful harvesting of the royal fields yesterday.

His Majesty said elder regiment had the task to make sure that the culture of kuhlehla was instilled in the young generation.

He said this was to ensure that the culture and tradition, which had been there for ages, did not go extinct. “The baton needs to be passed on to the young ones because there is no way we can let our beautiful culture go down the drain.

It is for each and every one of us here to ensure that we go back home and teach the young ones about the importance of such (kuhlehla),” he said. The King applauded the regiment for participating in the harvesting of the royal fields.

Resilient

He said the spirit and resilience shown by libutfo was commendable. Before the regiment was dispersed, they sang and danced inside the cattle byre they were led by Indvuna Qomentanyeni Magagula and Vilakati. They started dancing at 11:45am where they sang various songs while clad in full traditional regalia.

The regiment also adhered to the health regulations as they wore face masks. At 12:31pm Indvuna wores Vilakati dispersed the regiment as per His Majesty’s instruction.
