Africa-Press – Eswatini. Siboniso Mkhabela, the National Organizing Secretary(NOS) of eSwatini’s main and largest political party, the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) told the South African Broadcasting Corporation(SABC) Channel Africa radio that, the Judiciary is not independent in eSwatini.
The PUDEMO leader said, political parties remain banned in eSwatini after the 1973, April 12 King’s Decree, he was interviewed ahead of the banning of political parties commemoration this weekend.
Mkhabela said the Monarchy banned political parties and assumed all Executive, Judicial and Legislative powers after realizing that, pro-democracy groups were becoming popular and advancing.
Eswatini is ruled by King Mswati as an absolute Monarch, political activists and human rights are arrested, tortured or even killed for demanding democracy.
