Africa-Press – Eswatini. The Royal Eswatini Police Staff Association(REPOSA) has clarified that, junior cops have nothing to celebrate during the upcoming Police Day.

In a press statement sent on Tuesday, REPOSA Executive said the Police Day will only be a celebration for the Executive.

“The Royal Eswatini Police Staff Association (REPOSA) has noted over time and again the requests by the Office of NatCom for contributions towards the upcoming Police Day celebrations which is scheduled for the month of August 2025. We as REPOSA, wishes the office of the National Commissioner and his executive a prosperous Police Day celebration. REPOSA wishes to clarify that the upcoming police day celebration is a celebration of the Executive Command of the Police organization not our members(junior officers).Members of REPOSA has nothing to celebrate in the current status core within the Police Organization as junior officers are in mourning following the conduct of the Executive towards the junior officers, REPOSA ufake ingubo emlonyeni in that”, reads the statement in part.

The police workers organisation said, as REPOSA, they have nothing to celebrate when one of their own, Secretary General Sergeant Dumsile Khumalo was blocked from attending a general meeting that was to be held in Nhlangano, “she was harassed, her cellphone was forcefully grabbed, optical lenses damaged without a just cause and the office of the National Commissioner and the office of the Prime Minister as Minister responsible for Police Affairs never condoned the barbaric act of the which is unethical to the image” of the organization.

“REPOSA has nothing to celebrate when the National Commissioner unleashes the Operational Support Service Unit(OSSU) which he has turned to be his personal battalion within the organization to assault, abduct and dump members of the Association in one of the dangerous forests in the country, and further grab without a court order the cellphone of the victimized officers and invade their privacy which is a gross violation of the constitutional right to privacy. The bullying by NatCom has silenced the vocal office of the Deputy Prime Minister, Human Rights Commission and other human rights organizations who are vibrant in the promoting and protection of human rights especially rights for women”,REPOSA said through the statement.
