Africa-Press – Eswatini. His Majesty King Mswati III has encouraged management and staff of Michael Lee Enterprises which mines green chart at Malolotja to treat the mining project with the best of care as it will contribute immensely in the country’s economy.

His Majesty gave the motivational speech to about 100 staff members during his visit to the mine yesterday. The King told the staff members that the mining project has the potential to boost the country’s economy and generate thousands of jobs for many Emaswati especially in the northern Hhohho Region.

Project

The King told the staff to be committed and work hard towards ensuring that the mining project grows and even benefit generations to come.

His Majesty said the mining of the stone will last for many years to come. The King said his visit was just a familiarisation tour and to launch the project stating that he will come back to officially open the project as he only came to bless to the project as it continues.

The director of the company Michael Lee told His Majesty that the project was going on smoothly stating that they have been able to overcome some of the challenges they encountered in the initial stages of their operation. He told the King that they currently

employ about 100 employees with a long term goal of employing 3 500 when the mine is in full operation.

Meanwhile, the company’s liaising officer, said His Majesty’s visit has inspired the staff members and encouraged them to work with much dedication.

He said the King personally told them that the mining project has been launched and will be officially opened in due course. “We are grateful to His Majesty for taking time out of

his busy schedule to visit the mine and also taking time to interact with the management and staff.

We were also inspired by the words of encouragement the King gave us as staff.

This will make us to work even harder to uplift the country’s economy,” he said. The King’s visit was also joined by the Prime Minister, Russell Dlamini, Deputy Prime Minister Thuli Dladla, Speaker, Jabulani Mabuza, ministers Pholile Shakantu, Mandla Tshawuka and Sikhumbuzo Dlamini.

Also present were Liqoqo Chairman Paul Dlamini, Hhohho Regional Administrator Princess Tsandzile, Chief Ndlaludzaka of Hhelehhele area as well as Chief Mabeleka Mncina of Eluvinjelweni. His Majesty and his entourage were taken on a tour of the mining project and shown the work currently being done.

The King also took time to take photos with the management and staff members much to the excitement and joy of the team.
