Africa-Press – Eswatini. His Majesty King Mswati III has summoned the nation to attend Sibaya that will be held on July 11, 2023 at Ludzidzini. This was through acting Ludzidzini Governor Indvuna, Themba Ginindza at Ludzidzini Royal Residence yesterday. “The King says the nation from all corners of the country should attend Sibaya slated for July 11, 2023. Everyone is expected to be seated by 10am,” he said. Deputy Prime Minister, Themba Masuku, said he was already looking forward to July 11. Masuku said he highly anticipated what Sibaya Chairman, the King, had to share with the nation, adding that he had learnt not to guess and speculate what would likely take place.
He noted that during Sibaya, there were significant policy decisions discussed and one never knows the agenda beforehand because the Chairman as established by the Constitution only announces then. The deputy premier went on to urge the nation to attend in their numbers, adding that the good thing about Emaswati was that they respect the monarchy and respond to the King’s call no matter the event, whether it was the Reed Dance, Incwala, Buganu Festival or even elections registration. “Emaswati have proven several times before that they positively respond to Their Majesties call for whatever reason. I believe that even during the elections, they will come out in numbers,” said Masuku. He said he would probably get there an hour before and patiently wait for Ingwenyama to address the nation. Meanwhile, parliamentarians thanked His Majesty for the announcement and further expressed their appreciation to have been entrusted to serve the nation, speculating on what the invitation to the Sibaya was about. Appreciated Senate President, Lindiwe Dlamini said as the 11th Parliament, they appreciated Their Majesties for entrusting them with working for the nation. She said she believed that they did the best they could, adding that it was time to put all the working tools down so that the next stage, which was the national elections, takes place. Dlamini noted that Their Majesties sent them to the nation to serve. She said it had been an absolute pleasure and joy to serve as mandated by and under Their Majesties. “I have learnt a lot, experienced a lot from the senators and members of parliament as well,” she said Senate Deputy President, Ndumiso Mdluli, echoed the president saying it was humbling to be trusted by Emakhosi to do work of such a great magnitude. Mdluli also appreciated the opportunity to serve under Dlamini.
He said he learnt a lot from her work ethic and how to hold the ropes as it was his first experience. The senator also appreciated Their Majesties for aligning him with Dlamini. He appreciated the opportunity to act as Senate president when Dlamini was not available. The deputy president also encouraged the nation to attend the Sibaya so that they get first-hand information on what the King would say, what would happen and have a chance to be in the presence of Their Majesties. “I am leaving with an enriched vocabulary and work ethics. We will continue learning because it never stops,” he said. Speaker of the House of Assembly, Petros Mavimbela, said when the King has commanded, they could only comply. He said they cannot pre-empt what the agenda of Sibaya would be but could only think of the possibility of the dissolution of Parliament. Mavimbela said it was a known fact that Parliament was dissolved after five years when elections are held and a new government voted into office as stipulated by the Constitution. Deputy Speaker, Madala Mhlanga, said he was patiently anticipating and could not wait to hear what the King had to share. He said he could only urge his colleagues and the entire nation to attend in numbers as commanded.
