KING DECLARES ICC ‘DUBAI YEMASWATI’

Africa-Press – Eswatini. His Majesty highlighted infrastructure development as a critical pillar in advancing the Kingdom’s economy and creating employment opportunities.

“Development of infrastructure is key to growing our country and creating jobs for emaSwati,” the King said, stressing the transformative potential of the ICC and its adjoining five-star hotel. Even though the five star hotel is still not opperational, the King stated that revenue for its completion will be generated by the ICC.

The King further revealed that the project reflects a deliberate national effort to learn from global best practices. He noted that during his international travels, he consistently encourages members of his delegation to acquire skills and knowledge that can be brought back home to benefit the nation.

“Each time we travel abroad, we urge our delegations to learn and bring back valuable skills. Today, the design and architecture of this facility demonstrate that emaSwati have indeed done so,” he said.

His Majesty proudly pointed out that the ICC stands as proof that local talent has been successfully developed and applied to deliver a world-class facility. He thanked all the joint venture companies that put up the excellent work to make sure that the project becomes world class. This, he said, was also made possible by Taiwan involvement.

In a significant announcement, the King confirmed that the ICC and FISH have been officially handed over to a globally recognised hotel management company, Palazzo Hospitality, to ensure world-class standards and operations.

“It will be known as Ezulwini Palazzo,” the King declared, reinforcing both global excellence and national pride in the project.

The official opening marks a major milestone in Eswatini’s journey to becoming a leading destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism. The facility is expected to attract high-profile international events while boosting the country’s hospitality sector and generating employment opportunities.

The state-of-the-art complex features modern conference facilities, a world-class theatre, premium dining spaces and a luxury hotel with close to 300 rooms, positioning Eswatini as a competitive player in global business tourism.

The grand ceremony was attended by regional monarchs, heads of state, international dignitaries, government leaders and captains of industry, reflecting the significance of the occasion.

Beyond its architectural excellence, the ICC symbolizes a new era of confidence, capability and global engagement for the Kingdom.

With the declaration of “Dubai yemaSwati,” His Majesty has not only celebrated the completion of a landmark project but also set a clear vision—one where Eswatini stands tall as a hub of excellence, innovation and opportunity.
