Africa-Press – Eswatini. King Mswati has named Datamatics Eswatini Director Sibusiso Baartjies as the Entrepreneur of Year, the company is specializing in Information Technology(IT) services.

The Director was presented with a Toyota Hilux(GD6)‘worth six hundred thousand Rands(R600,000.00) and eighty thousand Rands(R80,000.00) cash, the Entrepreneur of the Year Awards event was sponsored by the First National Bank(FNB).

Addressing entrepreneurs during the event held at the Mavuso Trade Centre on Friday evening, the King said he was happy to see even people living with disabilities competing for entrepreneurs such awards.

“I was inspired to see persons living with disabilities are also excelling in this competition as seen with the participation of one visually impaired entrepreneur and another with motion impediments. This is a challenge to the able-bodied, what excuse do you have for not venturing into business?.This ceremony provides us with a valuable opportunity to shine a spotlight on the role that our entrepreneurs play in driving economic growth, creating jobs and fostering innovation in the kingdom of Eswatini. I look forward to the day that emaSwati run billionaire empires and I can tell that this dream will soon be realised,” said the King as quoted by Government online platforms.

The King further urged entrepreneurs to make use of the business opportunities outside the boarders.

“We wish to urge you to seize the vast opportunities that lie beyond our borders by making sure that you position yourselves strategically in accessing the regional and global markets open to you,” he said.

Other winners include Nkosephayo Handicraft(Outstanding Street Vendor),Maphindi’s Grocery (Outstanding Living with Disability and Shiselweni Regional winner), Buhle Bem-Africa (Outstanding Handicraft Business and Thomas M Greens Investments (Outstanding Green Business), Co-Creator Investments (Most Innovative Business), Eswatini Coffee (Outstanding Agribusiness), Selene Investments t/a LUNA Hair + Body (Outstanding Women-owned business),Du Pont Security Services (Outstanding Youth-owned business and Lubombo Regional winner) and Freightlux (Manzini Regional Winner).
