Africa-Press – Eswatini. His Majesty King Mswati III has disclosed that he will attend Zulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini’s coronation later this month.

The king said it was impressive that the Zulu Royal family found it important to send a delegation, which comprised senior princes, Undlunkulu, aunt and elders to inform Their Majesties that the stage had been set for the coronation.

The delegation, which arrived in the country last Thursday, paid a courtesy visit at the Ludzidzini Royal Residence on Tuesday evening.

The king said sending a strong powered delegation ahead of the auspicious event made it crystal clear that Eswatini remained highly respected by the Zulu Royal family and nation.

The coronation, where South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa and other dignitaries are expected to attend, will be convened on October 29 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

It follows a traditional coronation ceremony performed at KwaKhangela Mankengane Palace in Kwa-Nongoma, Kwa-Zulu-Natal.

“We are very grateful boMageba for delivering the good news to the king and indlovukazi about the coronation of Zulu King Misuzulu ka-Zwelithini. I would also like to take this opportunity and assure that we will be part of the Zulu people throughout the entire process of handing over the reins.

Even on the actual day of the coronation, I can also confirm that we will be there in our capacity as mother to the King,” said His Majesty.

Pray

King Misuzulu ka-Zwelithini’s mother is Princess Mantfombi, a daughter to King Sobhuza II.

The king also urged Emaswati to fast and pray for the successful coronation day.

His Majesty went on to advise Misuzulu kaZwelithini to follow in the footsteps of kings Shaka, Senzangakhona and Zwelithini.

“We must all pray and fast for success of the throne,” the king said.

He added that the Zulu king should always listen to his subjects, take care of them and address their challenges in order to always keep them happy. Misuzulu ka-Zwelithini ascends to the throne once held by his late father, Goodwill Zwelithini. King Zwelithini died in March last year after 50 years in charge.
