Africa-Press – Eswatini. Uneswa Kwaluseni Campus have booked their place in the INSTACASH / Mula Sports Varsities semis after beating Luyengo Campus 1-0 during the quarter-final played at Manzini club yesterday.

The two sides showed determination for a win when they played a balanced match, which saw them taking the half break with no goal for both sides in the E30 000 sponsored inaugural tournament.

It was only on the second half where Kwaluseni upped their game, giving Luyengo’s defence all sorts of problems with their swift attacking moves.

Kwaluseni Campus captain and Denver Sundowns player Wandile Tshakala showed his premier league class as he dictated the tempo of the game in the belly of the park .

It seemed not enough for Tshakala, as he found the back of the net in the dying minutes of the game after he fired a powerful shot to the Luyengo goalkeeper, who mishandled the ball and it slipped into the net.

Kwaluseni Campus Director of Sports Thandolwethu Gadlela said he was happy with the result.

“I would like to congratulate the team and the technical bench for the win. This really means a lot to the campus and supporters.

“We will continue working hard in the other upcoming fixtures, as our target is to reach finals of the tournament,” he said.

Other games played on the day saw Limkokwing University secure a place in the last four after beating neighbours Eswatin Christian medical University by the same scoreline.

Uneswa Mbabane Campus are also through to the last four after beating Voctim with a 1-0 narrow win.

The last match of the day saw William pitcher win 4 -3 to book the last semifinal spot with a 4-3 win over Emergency Medical Rescue College on penalties.

The semifinal draw will be held at INSTACASH offices on Wednesday.
