Africa-Press – Eswatini. Ministry of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Communications Officer Sibongiseni Zondi, who is currently on sabbatical in the United Kingdom, has come second in the Create Students Awards 2023.

The former sports journalist was nominated for the International Student Award organised by the School of Arts, Media, and Creative Tech at Salford University.

On his Twitter page, Zondi posted that he finished a runner-up for the award, stating that although he didn’t win his heart was filled with immense gratitude.

“I am grateful to have been considered for this award. Most importantly, congratulations to Janice Ho, a deserving winner of the award and all the other #CreateAwards23 winners,” he wrote.

Zondi is a Chevening Scholar under the UK government’s international scholarships and fellowships programme.

The Chevening programme is funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organisations, it offers individuals who show potential to inspire, inform and influence the opportunity to study in a UK university to gain a UK educational qualification.

Zondi left for the UK sometime last year under the programme as a student in Public Relations and Digital Communications at the University of Salford, Manchester.
